Campbell Soup, FFA and Jewell Support Agriculture Education

Campbell Soup Co. is teaming up with the National Future Farmers of America and pop songstress Jewell in support of agriculture education.

Campbell will donate $250,000 through its Help Grow Your Soup campaign to push the FFA’s efforts to encourage participation in agriculture education programs. Consumers can visit www.HelpGrowYourSoup.com and click on a red barn icon to trigger a $1 donation from Campbell to the FFA.

The money raised will also go toward preserving several family barns around the country that are featured on the Web site.

Jewell is featured in a series of clickable video clips on the Web site commenting on the importance of Americans realizing where the food originates, and endorsing Campbell’s initiative. The singer, who grew up on a homestead in Alaska, currently resides on a working farm in Texas.

“We cherish the relationships we have with American Farming families, many of which have lasted for generations, and we fully recognize that our future success is dependent on the people and places that help grow the quality ingredients that go into our soups,” said Eric Christianson, business director for Campbell’s condensed soups, in a statement. “It’s important that we, and all Americans, support the National FFA Organization¹s effort to keep American farming thriving.”

Campbell supports local farms by using ingredients grown within 100 miles of its production facilities. Campbell also works with farmers to develop sustainable agricultural practices, including efforts to reduce reliance on synthetic pesticides.

The FFA supports in-school and community-based programs to further understanding of agricultural education.
